Line Pipe Procurement

Dating back to the Northern Borders Project in 1983, and including the 1743 mile All American Pipeline, in the early 1990’s, The Microalloyed Steel Institute has helped procure over 25000 miles of line pipe. MSI expertise ranges from initial design and development of specifications to preparation of bidders lists, participation in bid evaluation and pre-award discussions, to contract award, pipe mill inspection and field support, including welding and AUT.  Dr. J. Malcolm Gray was a principal consultant involved in the execution of the Cheyenne Plains X-80 pipeline, the longest in the world at the time and now still second to CNPC’s Second West East Pipeline. Once again Microalloyed Steel Institute has assisted CNPC, TGRC, Petro China and the Pipeline Bureau (construction) in the development and execution of several challenging projects.
