Microalloyed Steel Institute actively participates in the development of Offshore Plate specifications primarily via the API Resource Group 8, which is responsible for development and maintenance of API 2B, API 2H, API 2W, API 2Y, API 2MTI and other principal documents.

Since 1998 the company has assisted Shell offshore in connection with their TLP projects, BP (Vioska Knoll) Amerada Hess (Bold Plate Compliant Tower) Exxon Diana (FPSO) and many major operators in the Gulf of Mexico. Additionally the company has advised major fabricators in North America and Europe concerning state of the art high strength microalloyed steels.
